The Philadelphia Eagles seem to be the most-suited team for the Super Bowl, but Jimmy Johnson thinks they’re in for some trouble.

The Philadelphia Eagles are on fire this season as the only undefeated team in the NFL, and they’re certainly looking more and more like Super Bowl contenders every week. Former Dallas Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson, however, thinks the Cowboys could be better suited gearing up for the latter half of the season.

The Cowboys are tied for second in the division with a record of 6-2, not too far behind the Eagles. Johnson discussed a pattern in the Eagles performance he’s noticed over each game, then further discussed how that could come back to bite them as they begin to face teams for a second time this season.

The Eagles may not be as successful in the second half of the season

Johnson pointed out that the Eagles typically score early in the game, particularly in the second quarter. Once the opposing team figures out their offense, they tend to slow down scoring.

This trend proves true when looking at each game throughout the season. In Week 1, they scored 24 points out of 38 in the second quarter. In Week 2, they scored 17 out of 24 in the second and none at all in the second half. In Week 3, they scored all 24 points in the second. This continued up until their two most recent games.

The Cowboys, on the other hand, have had more spread-out results, proving they have good strategy that’s effectively leading to wins more often than not.

The Eagles seem likely to be at a disadvantage when they begin facing teams for a second time as these teams have had the chance to figure out Philadelphia’s strategy and they’ll be more equipped to face it earlier in the game.

The Eagles are facing the Washington Commanders on Monday for the second time this season, and things could look different quickly for the undefeated team.
