Projected College Football Playoff rankings after Week 11: No. 4-3

4. TCU Horned Frogs

When everyone looked at the Week 11 marquee clash between undefeated TCU and Texas in Austin, the first thought for many was “How high is the total?” These have been two explosive offenses and defenses with plenty of issues. So it figured that they were going to end up in a good ol’ Lone Star State shootout. But it turns out that the under would’ve hit if the total was 30 as the Horned Frogs found themselves in a slugfest.

Even though the final score was 17-10, it was a botched snap that the Longhorns returned to the house that was the only trip to the end zone for Texas. This was by far TCU’s best defensive performance of the year, which is good that it paired with one of the worst offensive showings. At the end of the day, though, the Hypnotoad has us all entranced as Sonny Dykes has an undefeated team with a clear path to the Playoff.

Who’d have thunk it?

3. Michigan Wolverines

Hindsight being 20/20, if you needed a good nap and weren’t invested in Alabama-Ole Miss during the mid-afternoon slate of Week 11, then you should’ve watched Nebraska come to the Big House to play on Michigan. The end result was a 34-3 win that was wholly dominant but the action itself was quite tiresome as the Wolverines just tightened like a boa constrictor for 60 minutes and had their way.

Blake Corum strengthened his Heisman candidacy with a 28-carry, 162-yard day complimented by a score. Beyond that, though, there was never any doubt that Michigan was the far superior team in this matchup and they proved it from start to finish. This team is like Georgia Lite. They will impose their will physically and there’s a good chance teams can’t hold up for an entire game. And that strategy could again put Jim Harbaugh in the Playoff.
