4) Dream White Sox starting lineup: Rafael Devers bats fourth, 3B

In a stunning trade, the White Sox add Rafael Devers to the roster. It does cost them Andrew Vaughn and some other younger players with years of control. Devers brings with him from the Boston Red Sox some amazing power from the left side of the plate. An issue with the White Sox lineup has been officially solved.

Even better, Devers signs an extension with the White Sox shortly after arriving. He is a free agent after the 2023 season which is the reason why in this dream he’s able to be acquired.

Devers is what White Sox fans want Robert to develop into. He is a true star in the game. He’s someone who can take control on the field. It’s an absolute dream trade for the White Sox to make. Maybe the Red Sox even take Yoan Moncada back. He hasn’t been as advertised.

5) Dream White Sox starting lineup: Eloy Jimenez bats fifth, LF

Another young star the White Sox are hoping for more from, Eloy Jimenez bats fifth in this dream lineup and takes his place in left field. Jimenez might be better used as a DH, but to make room for some other additions, we need him to grab a glove regularly.

Jimenez is a lot like Robert. The major difference is he was able to get through the 2019 season with 122 games under his belt. Ever since, fans have been eager to see him swat 31 home runs again. It hasn’t happened. Jimenez hasn’t topped 292 plate appearances since.

Last season was promising. Keeping him in bubble wrap will be important. The White Sox have many potential stars on the lineup even without us dreaming too deeply. Maybe they even invite someone back to help with the run production.
