8) Dream White Sox starting lineup: Oscar Colas bats eighth, RF
Someone needs to come up from the minors with all of these additions. Despite making a blockbuster trade for Rafael Devers, the White Sox manage to hold onto Oscar Colas in this dream scenario. Don’t pinch yourself. It’s okay to feel this good.
Colas played in three minor league levels for the White Sox last year. It was an impressive showing. He hit over .300 up through his 7 games in Triple-A. It’s clear that the White Sox may have yet another budding young star to create at-bats for.
He begins the year as the starting right fielder in this dream lineup. If you need to, wake up for a moment. This is a real possibility. You can get excited about it.
9) Dream White Sox starting lineup: Sean Murphy bats ninth, C
Now we’re getting ridiculous. Chicago gets greedy and trades for Sean Murphy. Aren’t dreams wonderful? We can add a lot of upgrades without having to worry about logic.
Murphy could be a realistic option for the White Sox as they look for an alternative to Yasmani Grandal. The Oakland Athletics catcher is one of the most likely to get deal this winter. The White Sox should take a look.
Best known for his defensive skills, Murphy may also be on the verge of developing into a more competent bat. It’s not the main reason why the White Sox acquire him in this dream. They’re just looking to fortify every spot in their lineup. Murphy can help them accomplish this.
