1. Trade for Mo Bamba

This one comes with an asterisk. The Orlando Magic cannot trade Mo Bamba until January 15th. So, this move would have to wait until then. The Magic have both Wendell Carter Jr. and Bol Bol, so they could be willing to move Bamba.

The Nets could use another center. They are 29th in the NBA in rebounds per game (40.1), and they are tied for last in the league in contested rebound percentage (29.8 percent).

For his career, Bamba is averaging 11.5 rebounds per 36 minutes. He is also a smoother fit at center alongside Ben Simmons. Nic Claxton has only made two three-point field goals in his career, so lineups with Claxton and Simmons offer little floor spacing. Bamba shot 38.1 percent from three last season.

Here is an example of a potential deal.

In this scenario, the Nets trade Patty Mills, 2021 first-round pick Day’Ron Sharpe, and a 2028 second-round pick for Bamba. Meanwhile, the Magic acquire the 21-year-old Sharpe, two second-round picks, and Kendrick Nunn’s expiring contract. The Lakers also add a much-needed shooter in Mills.
