3. Dameon Pierce, RB, Houston Texans (vs. CLE)
Texans rookie running back Dameon Pierce has had an electric rookie season and has worked his way onto the shortlist of Offensive Rookie of the Year contenders. His 788 rushing yards rank eighth in the NFL, and he’s the overall RB18 in PPR leagues. He’s been a lone bright spot on a rather abysmal Texans team.
This week, the Texans take on the Cleveland Browns in the long-awaited showdown between the Texans and their former quarterback Deshaun Watson. The thing to watch for in this matchup is actually how Pierce will do against the Browns’ 23rd-ranked run defense who seem to get gashed on a weekly basis.
Pierce is a hard and powerful runner, and the only thing stopping him from fantasy greatness is the incompetence of the Texans’ offense. However, he does better in favorable matchups. The Browns offer a solid matchup for Pierce in Week 13, and he could push for top-10 running back numbers.
