MLB rumor: Will the Pittsburgh Pirates really trade Bryan Reynolds?

When news broke on Saturday that star outfielder Bryan Reynolds had requested a trade from the Pittsburgh Pirates, everyone began trying to decipher if this would be the moment where the Pirates might actually ship off their most coveted trade piece. Reynolds is seemingly in the middle of trade rumors every year, but could this year be different?

Simply put, don’t count on it … at least at the moment.

There will be plenty of teams that will put together trade packages and check in with the Pirates on the availability of the 27-year-old outfielder. However, as in past seasons, it will take a massive trade package to pull in Reynolds, who isn’t scheduled to become a free agent until the 2026 campaign.

With the announcement about his request to be traded, there will be plenty of attention on Reynolds at the MLB Winter Meetings. However, if it’s really more than just talk remains to be seen.
