3 moves Braves must make to respond to Mets landing Justin Verlander

2. Consider all options about upgrading that weakness over there in left field
I do not think the Braves can trot out persona non grata in left field anymore, or let him swing two feet over sliders on the outside corner of the plate any longer to render the DH position utterly useless. As long as the Braves have Ronald Acuña Jr. and Michael Harris in the outfield, Atlanta should be in good shape in the back-end of its defense. But what about improving left field then?
If this means seeing if William Contreras or Vaughn Grissom can flash the leather in left, then so be it. Should it mean orchestrating a blockbuster trade with the Pittsburgh Pirates to land former Vanderbilt star Bryan Reynolds, why not? Ultimately, the Braves cannot be operating at a deficit in left field again next season, especially with the Mets wanting nothing more than to destroy them.
Having one of the most talented outfields in all of baseball is a great way to win again in October.
