2022 NFL power rankings, Week 14: 49ers roll, Colts flop
Off a come-from-behind win at Arizona, the Chargers faced the Raiders with a chance to sweep their AFC West rivals. Brandon Staley’s defense got on the board first when Bryce Callahan picked off Derek Carr and returned the prize 37 yards for a touchdown.
The Bolts also came up with a Josh Jacobs’ fumble, but Staley’s defenders would surrender 404 total yards (154 rushing), and Los Angeles’ troubled defense failed to come up with a sack of Carr.
The Detroit offense was on full display against the visiting Jaguars on Sunday. Quarterback Jared Goff threw for 340 yards and two touchdowns – both to wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown. He finished with 11 receptions, good for 114 yards.
Dan Campbell’s team rolled up 437 total yards – 260 of those in the first half as the Lions owned a 23-6 lead at intermission. The team’s much-maligned defense limited Jacksonville to only 266 total yards.
It’s been a rough year for the defending NFC South champions. On Monday night at home against the Saints, the Buccaneers spent most of the evening stuck on three points. Down 16-3 in the fourth quarter, Tom Brady orchestrated touchdown drives of 91 and 63 yards, respectively.
The second of those marches finished with a six-yard TD pass to running back Rachaad White with three seconds to play. Ryan Succop’s PAT gave the Bucs the win.
