Off last week’s surprising loss at Jacksonville, the Ravens hosted the last-place Broncos. Quarterback Lamar Jackson suffered a knee injury late in the first quarter and did not return. Enter Tyler Huntley, who hit on 27-of-32 passes but for just 187 yards and an interception.

Baltimore limited Denver to three field goals. Huntley capped off a 91-yard drive with a two-yard TD run with 28 seconds remaining and Justin Tucker’s PAT was the difference.

Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and the explosive Dolphins were in San Francisco to take on the surging 49ers. Mike McDaniel’s club not only brought a four-game winning streak into this clash but the ‘Fins had scored at least 30 points in each of those victories.

Tagovailoa found Trent Sherfield for a 75-yard score on his team’s first play from scrimmage. But he was sacked three times, picked off twice and lost a fumble. Miami ran for only 33 yards.

8-4. Previous: . San Francisco 49ers. 7. team. 42.

The impressive 49ers had a real challenge on its hands when they faced the explosive Miami Dolphins. The good news was the relentless Niners’ defense. It gave up a 75-yard TD pass on the first play of the game and just 233 total yards the rest of the way.

The bad news was that San Francisco lost quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo with a broken foot. Rookie Brock Purdy responded in a big way, as did veteran kicker Robbie Gould via four field goals.
