1. Championship run

The last reason why the city of Chicago should be excited about Parker re-signing is that it gives them a chance to capture another championship.

Last season the Sky lost to the Connecticut Sun 3-2 in the semifinals. The playoff series could have gone either way. Connecticut tapped into its culture of strength and grit and was able to come back from double-digits to win the series. At times it appeared that Chicago ran out of gas and overlooked the depleted Connecticut team.

Despite winning a championship in 2021, Parker still has a chip on her shoulder from her last two seasons (2019, 2020) in Los Angeles. Some question whether or not Chicago’s first title was a one-and-done but the future Hall of Famer could rise to the challenge and bring this roster together to compete for another title.
