Andy Reid’s club made its way to Denver and looked to extend its 13-game winning streak over the Broncos. The Chiefs opened up a 27-0 lead in the second quarter thanks mainly to two Patrick Mahomes TD passes and Willie Gay Jr.’s pick-six of Russell Wilson.
Mahomes wound up throwing just as many interceptions (3) as scores and the team wound up holding on for the win. The Chiefs still own a three-game lead over the Chargers in the AFC West.
The Niners hosted the Buccaneers on Sunday in a battle of division leaders. It was all San Francisco from the get-go as the NFC West leaders rolled up 28 points and 290 total yards in the first half alone.
Rookie Brock Purdy was very relevant, throwing for 185 yards and a pair of TDs while running two yards for a score in the rout. During their current six-game winning streak, the Niners have outscored the opposition by a combined 172-64 count.
The Birds made their way to MetLife Stadium for the first of their two meeting with the rival Giants. Before you could say “cheesesteak,” Nick Sirianni’s club owned a 21-0 second-quarter advantage. Philadelphia scored in every quarter.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts threw two TD passes and ran for another score. Miles Sanders had 144 of the club’s 253 rushing yards and scored twice. The Eagles are back in the playoffs for the fifth time in six seasons.
