What would an Atlanta Braves dream lineup look like with Sean Murphy?

The biggest hole in the Atlanta lineup right now sits in left field where an Eddie Rosario/Marcell Ozuna platoon is looking like it’s the Opening Day option for the Braves.

With that in mind, and National League Rookie of the Year Michael Harris II holding down center field and Ronald Acuna Jr. in right, finding someone who is primarily a left fielder would be best for Atlanta. That’s where signing free agent Andrew Benintendi would seem to be the play of the offseason for the Braves.

Before a broken hand prematurely ended his 2022 season, Benintendi slashed .304/.373/.399 with the Kansas City Royals and New York Yankees. Adding his bat to the Braves lineup would be as big of an upgrade as Murphy was behind the plate.

How might a Braves lineup look with a new left fielder?

Ronald Acuña Jr, RF

Michael Harris II, CF

Austin Riley, 3B

Matt Olson, 1B

Sean Murphy, DH

Andrew Benintendi, LF

Travis d’Arnaud, C

Ozzie Albies, 2B

Vaughn Grissom, SS

Benintendi could certainly extend the Braves lineup, which is already strong at the bottom with Albies and Grissom not only manning the middle of the infield, but giving the lineup a chance to turn over to the top as well when they step to the plate.

Yes, Braves fans, for some, the dream lineup would not include Dansby Swanson at shortstop. However, Grissom certainly showcased his skills last season (slashing .291/.353/.440 in 141 at-bats), so the future seems bright at shortstop, even without Swanson there.
