Yankees trade targets not named Fernando Tatis Jr. No. 1: Bryan Reynolds, OF, Pittsburgh Pirates
The best trade target available is none other than Bryan Reynolds, outfielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates. If the Yankees are serious about contending for the World Series and putting a better team forward for the 2023 season and beyond, Reynolds is the player they must bring in.
This offseason, Reynolds requested a trade off the team. The Pirates reportedly have a high-asking price for the outfielder, apparently asking for what the Washington Nationals received after dealing Juan Soto this past season. He is an All-Star, after all, and is under team control through the 2025 season.
This past season, Reynolds was a trade target, but the Pirates were unwilling to move him. In 145 games in 2022, Reynolds slashed .262/.345/.461 while recording 27 home runs, 62 RBI, 74 runs scored, and 142 hits.
As mentioned earlier, the Yankees have a void at left field. If they are to miss out on Benintendi this offseason, Reynolds would be a very good option. The thing is, is Cashman willing to surrender top prospects? Because that’s what it’s going to take.
