The San Francisco Giants have missed out on some big signings this offseason, but there are still some moves they can make to improve.

The San Francisco Giants are chasing some serious roster development this offseason. They’ve been tied to several star free agents, and they’ve lost one of their own, Carlos Rodon. While that certainly puts them at a loss in their rotation, that doesn’t mean they’re out of options.

They did, luckily, manage to land star shortstop Carlos Correa. They signed Correa to a massive 13-year deal worth $350 million, however, they’ll have to do more to rise up in the competitive division.

They have a lot of work to do to compete with the Los Angeles Dodgers and the up-and-coming San Diego Padres, but there are moves they can make that’ll help them through roster development to compare to their top-division competitors.

While things haven’t fully gone as planned for San Francisco, there’s still hope as this offseason is far from over and a few stars remain on the market.

Giants should aim to sign an outfielder

The outfield market is thinning out, but there are still quite a few players left on the market and available for trade that could help make the team more solid, most notably Bryan Reynolds.

While Reynolds would be a huge investment and is expected to be as difficult as the Juan Soto trade, he’d be a great addition as he’s a well-rounded player. His glove is great and he has a strong arm. This past season, he posted a wFB of 18.2. He has a lot of potential at-bat as well. Though he hasn’t been consistent each season, he’s remained well above average.

Over his ongoing four-season career, he’s slashed .281/.361/.481 for an OPS of .842.

He’d be a huge investment and the Giants may not be able to put together a worthy trade package, but there are still other free agent options they could look into, including Michael Brantley, Joey Gallo and Jurickson Profar.

Profar, in particular, could be a good option as he had a great season with the Padres and would be a notable steal from a division competitor.
