NFC Playoff Picture: 3 teams that benefit the most from Seahawks loss, No. 2: New York Giants

If anyone had said that the New York Giants would win seven of their first nine games of the season earlier this year, they wouldn’t be believed. Yet, that’s exactly what happened in the very first year with Brian Daboll as head coach. The team played above their expectations and took some shocking wins over the likes of the Tennessee Titans, Green Bay Packers, and Baltimore Ravens.

But since their 7-2 start, the Giants have gone 0-3-1 in their previous four games entering Week 15. The injuries piled up, as the lack of quality roster depth has caught up to the Giants. That is due to the fact that they had minimal cap space entering the 2022 campaign.

Even so, the Giants still have a shot at making the playoffs. With a win over Washington, New York will have a 1.5 game lead over Seattle. If they lose, they’ll have a half a game lead. While wins by the Giants will be preferable, they can root for the Seahawks’ opponents down the stretch to help their playoff odds.

It doesn’t help that they have one of the toughest schedules for the final four weeks of the season, per Tankathon. After playing Washington, they face the Minnesota Vikings, Indianapolis Colts, and Philadelphia Eagles to close out their regular-season.
