5 breakout fantasy football stars to pick up for Week 16
1. Top Fantasy Football Pickups For Week 16 – Indianapolis Colts RB Zack Moss
Finding a potential starting running back in the semifinals of the fantasy football playoffs is a development worth burning all of your remaining FAAB and/or waiver wire positioning. That opportunity may come from Indianapolis after Jonathan Taylor sprained his ankle on the first play of the Colts’ Week 15 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.
Taylor did not return to the game, leaving the backfield in the hands of Zack Moss and Deon Jackson, who split the workload with the carries going in favor of Moss on a roughly 2-1 scale. Both backs were productive as Moss carried 24 times for 81 yards while Jackson turned 13 totes into 55 yards and added a one-yard touchdown reception for good measure.
Given their position in the standings, it wouldn’t be shocking to see the Colts simply put Taylor on ice for their final three games in the hopes of getting him ready for the 2023 season. That would make both Moss and Jackson worthy fantasy pickups, with Moss being the preferred add due to his volume of work on the early downs.
Moss is available in 98 percent of leagues while Jackson, who did an admirable job filling in for Taylor earlier in the season, is around in 93 percent of leagues. Week 16 provides a plus matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers’ suspect run defense so either back would be a strong RB2 option if Taylor sits.
