NFL QBs who deserve to be benched after Week 15

Russell Wilson didn’t play in Week 15 because of a concussion, but the performance of his backup should keep him on the bench for the rest of the season.

Brett Rypien the undrafted QB out of Boise State led Denver to a 24-15 victory over the Cardinals on Sunday in place of Wilson. He completed 21-of-26 passes for 197 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

Was it an exceptional performance? Not particularly. But he got the offense moving in the second half while letting the run game take center stage.

Sometimes a worse quarterback results in a better offense because they’re asked to do less. That’s what seemed to happen in the game against Arizona.

Wilson has been playing through a shoulder issue all season, according to reports. Denver would be better off if he sat down, got his shoulder fixed and looked ahead to next season while Rypien finished out the final games of the season.
