1. Christian Watson

The Packers need to spend big-time resources to acquire a No. 1 wide receiver before next season begins. That doesn’t mean Watson shouldn’t be counted on to take a big step forward to become a really good No. 2 option ahead of his second season as a pro.

Watson’s high-profile drops early in his rookie campaign could have torpedoed his confidence. Instead, he put his nose to the grindstone and has emerged as one of Rodgers’ favorite targets as the season has approached its home stretch. His development happened too late to keep the Packers in the postseason picture but it should give the offense optimism heading into 2023.

His inconsistent hands might prevent him from ever leading Green Bay in catches, but there are zero questions about his ability to make big plays down the field. Watson possesses big-time speed and an uncanny ability to find space behind opposing defensive backs.

If the Packers can acquire a true superstar to draw double teams on the outside it will really unlock Watson’s ability to be the speed guy on the opposite side of the formation. LaFleur wants to build the team’s passing game via play-action and Watson’s ability to run deep routes fits perfectly with that philosophy. Watson has a real chance to rack up 1,000+ yards receiving during the 2023 season if he experiences a productive offseason.
