2. Cincinnati Bengals

As the Cincinnati Bengals made their ascent to Super Bowl LVI, Joe Burrow became the talk of the town. Suddenly, it seemed, everyone remembered that this is the quarterback who led LSU through a historic undefeated season, culminating in the 2019 National Championship.

There were plenty of comparisons between Burrow and Brady, and Rob Gronkowski’s opinion of Burrow underscored the parallels between them. In February, Gronk said that if he was going to play for a quarterback besides Brady, it would be Burrow.

Of course, this was a few days before the Bengals lost to the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl, but it’s unlikely that Gronk’s high opinion of Burrow has changed since then.

And his assessment of Burrow was spot on: the Bengals are once again headed to a playoff berth as they currently lead the AFC North. Right now, they could definitely use Gronk to give them that extra push.

According to the Bengals depth chart, Hayden Hurst still has the starting role, although he’s been limited at practice due to an injury he suffered on Dec. 4. Although Hurst has played well and has the support of his teammates, he did sign a one-year “prove it” deal in the offseason because the Bengals are thin at the position. If Gronk could play alongside Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd, and occasionally block for Joe Mixon, it’s hard to imagine how anyone could stop the Bengals offense.

There are a few AFC teams that could present trouble down the road, including another dream destination for Gronkowski.
