2. Pat Freiermuth – Tight End

Pat Freiermuth was a very exciting prospect the Steelers used a second-round pick at last year’s NFL Draft. He showed promise with Ben Roethlisberger under center. This year, Freiermuth was used as a major option. He leads the team in yards after the catch, so he’s making the most of his opportunities, however, things could be so much better.

Freiermuth has 82 targets this season. They have been incredibly inconsistent. In fact, the Steelers left Freiermuth with zero targets last game against the Carolina Panthers. Maybe that was the difference between a Kenny Pickett-led offense and a Mitch Trubisky-led offense, but this team can’t just ignore weapons like this.

Some might see Freiermuth’s season stats and think he was given everything he deserved. Somehow, he didn’t make the NFL Pro Bowl team. Only Travis Kelce and Mark Andrews made it, but maybe Freiermuth can make it if someone sits out. Either way, this is a highly-productive player that got most of his opportunities close to the line of scrimmage. Having a tight end with this much skill who only has two touchdowns on the season is a wasted asset. We’re sure fantasy owners will agree.
