3. Myles Jack – Linebacker

Myles Jack is on this list for a completely different reason. His numbers stand out. He already has 100 tackles, leading the team. However, a lot of those flashy stats are non-existent. He has zero sacks. Teams don’t want players with zero sacks. That wouldn’t be a worry, except Jack has an $11.25 million cap hit next season. Will the Steelers want him at that price?

Leaving him to the wolves as a tackle machine would be great in, say, 2001. Unfortunately, two decades later, teams are looking for more than just tackles from their linebackers. They want those flashy stats. They want players getting into the backfield on as many plays as possible.

Players in front of Myles Jack have been playing very well. Cameron Heyward has been a monster up the middle. TJ Watt is still one of the greatest pass rushers in the league. There’s a lot to like about this defense. Players should thrive on this defense.

This was supposed to be a fresh start for Jack after six years in Jacksonville. Instead, the Steelers are using him the exact same way the Jaguars did. He’s doing the deed, but the deed isn’t what gets linebackers to keep their job. This one might have the most impact.
