One bold prediction for every game left on Vikings schedule, playoff positioning
By Ryan Heckman
Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears Week 18 Prediction
At this stage, we can all assume that teams aren’t playing for draft positioning. But, if the Bears are still sitting at the number 2 overall pick, we can’t kid ourselves.
Chicago has done enough to stay competitive in many of their games this season, but in this game, they’ll find a way to lose and ensure they keep that second overall pick intact.
All season long, Justin Jefferson has been chasing history. He’s already broken records, but this game will see him break one of the biggest while also sending the Vikings into the postseason as the number two overall seed.
Bold Prediction: Justin Jefferson indeed breaks Calvin Johnson’s single-season record with big game against Chicago, Vikings win 30-24
Bonus: Minnesota Vikings vs. Detroit Lions Wild Card Round Prediction
Yes, you read that right. The Detroit Lions sneak into the seventh and final playoff spot in this scenario. Detroit is going to beat the Panthers and Bears, and will have to find a way to send Aaron Rodgers packing in Week 18 to ensure they get in at 10-7.
Then, they take on the Vikings. It will be a close battle, but as much as Vikings fans want to believe things are different this season … they remain the same.
Detroit rides a ton of momentum into this game. Minnesota has almost given a couple of games away this season, as fans distinctly remember. This one, though, slips through the cracks.
An epic season where Minnesota finds itself as the number 2 seed ends in devastating fashion.
Final score: Detroit 27, Minnesota 24
