1. Broncos players that won’t be back next season: TE Albert Okwuegbunam

Okwuegbunam was projected by many to be a breakout player in 2022. In 2021, he played well in limited action behind Noah Fant. He hauled in 33 out of his 40 targets for 330 yards and two touchdowns. With Fant shipped to Seattle in the Wilson trade, Okwuegbunam seemed primed to thrive in a larger role, but things did not quite shake out that way.

Across the first five weeks of the season, he played a complementary role. He had a total of seven receptions for 50 yards on 11 targets. After that, he just disappeared. Okwuegbunam was a surprisingly healthy scratch in Week 6, and he has only played two offensive snaps since then.

With another year left on his contract, Okwuegbunam seems like a safe bet to be traded this off-season. In October, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that Okwuegbunam was garnering interest in the trade market. He could provide a boost to a team in need of a tight end, such as the Green Bay Packers or Carolina Panthers.
