44. . 5-10. Previous: . Atlanta Falcons. 28. team

The Falcons took a three-game losing streak into their clash with the Ravens at Baltimore. Arthur Smith’s team again struggled to reach the end zone and wound up settling for three field goals.

Atlanta’s defense limited the Ravens to 299 total yards, but 184 of those came on the ground. Smith’s team failed to sack Baltimore quarterback Tyler Huntley. The loss meant the Falcons would not be going to the playoffs for the fifth consecutive season.

46. . 4-10-1. Previous: . Indianapolis Colts. 27. team

There was another change at quarterback for the disappointing Colts as veteran Nick Foles got the start against the visiting Chargers on Monday night. The well-traveled quarterback threw a pair of interceptions in the first quarter and was picked off for a third time in the third quarter.

The veteran signal-caller was also sacked seven times. By game’s end, Jeff Saturday’s club was limited to just a field goal and only 173 total yards by the Chargers’ defense.

51. . 5-10. Previous: . Los Angeles Rams. 26. team

Sean McVay’s club took out its 2022 frustrations on the visiting Broncos on Christmas Day. Both sides of the ball came up big as the Los Angeles’ defense came up with four interceptions, including a fourth-quarter pick-six off Broncos’ backup Brett Rypien, while intercepting Russell Wilson three times and sacking him on six occasions.

Baker Mayfield threw for 230 yards and two scores and Cam Akers rushed for 118 yards and three touchdowns.

Previous: . Cleveland Browns. 25. team. 53. . 6-9

The Browns hosted the Saints and former division rival Andy Dalton. Kevin Stefanski’s squad dominated early and scored the first 10 points of the contest. The Saints scored on the final play of the first half via a Wil Lutz 23-yard field goal.

The Browns were shut out in the second half while New Orleans took the lead for good in the third quarter. For the 22nd time in 24 seasons dating back to 1999, the Browns will not be making a playoff appearance.
