30 best NFL free agents in 2023: Fletcher Cox, DL

The long-time Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle has defied two commonalities in the NFL today. One, he’s been with the same team for a decade now. That rarely happens anymore, but Cox has stayed true to Philly, and Philly to him.

Secondly, he’s also managed to stay healthy throughout his career. Since he entered the league in 2015, Cox has only missed a grand total of five games, per Pro Football Reference. That’s over a decade of consistency from a now 32-year-old big man.

Speaking of consistency, Cox also earned six-straight Pro Bowl nods from 2015-2020 and also saw an All-Pro title once in that stretch. On an elite Eagles team this year, Cox could see himself right back in the Pro Bowl conversation once again.

In a league where Aaron Donald dominates interior linemen headlines, Cox has been one of the best at also creating pressure on quarterbacks. He’s been doing it a while, and doesn’t look like he’s slowing down anytime soon. Through Week 15, Cox had totaled 6.0 sacks and 10 quarterback hits.

Look for him to get plenty of attention from contenders next spring, as he’s put himself in prime position to be one of those “final pieces” to a Super Bowl roster.
