30 best NFL free agents in 2023: Marcus Peters, CB
The Ravens are going to be one of the most interesting teams to watch throughout the 2023 offseason. They have some big decisions to make on guys like Lamar Jackson and Roquan Smith, plus the need to upgrade a position like wide receiver, specifically.
Marcus Peters is an opportunistic, risk-taking corner that has always found his nose around the football. Since he entered the league in 2015, Peters has accumulated over 90 passes defended, over 30 interceptions and has scored 10 defensive touchdowns.
The four-time All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowl cornerback will turn 30 in January, but should still be in line for at least one more decent contract. Any team looking for a ball hawk on the outside will be looking Peters’ way, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Ravens let him go if they need to pay others.
Peters did endure a mild calf strain in Week 15, but that shouldn’t prohibit him from playing in the postseason, should the Ravens end up in the playoffs. It also shouldn’t be too big of a worry going into his free agency next year. He’ll likely end up with a four-year deal either way. Will it be in Baltimore? They can’t afford to keep everybody.
