3 quarterbacks Raiders should replace Derek Carr with in 2023, No. 1: Tom Brady
Remember all the talk from UFC president Dana White claiming that Tom Brady was going to sign with the Las Vegas Raiders at the start of the 2020 league year? Yeah, well, it could become a reality in 2023.
Last year, Brady announced his retirement from the NFL after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were eliminated by the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Divisional Round despite a late comeback attempt. This was one year removed from Brady leading the Buccaneers to their first Super Bowl title since the 2002 season.
This year has been far from Brady’s best, but the team as a whole under head coach Todd Bowles has underperformed. Yet, Brady does have some trademark last-second wins to his credit this season against the Los Angeles Rams and New Orleans Saints.
Brady has completed 66.0-percent of his passes for 4,178 yards and 21 touchdowns, while throwing nine interceptions.
It doesn’t seem like Brady is going to head back into retirement any time soon. Of course, that can always change. If he does want to keep playing, it’s hard to envision teams with playoff-ready rosters not giving Brady a call. He’s a seven-time Super Bowl champion after all, and has thrown for over 4,000 yards in his age-45 season.
Much like with Garoppolo, Brady knows McDaniels’ offense after all the time they spent together in New England.
