NFL mock draft: Could Packers trade up for Bryce Young?

Yes, I know Green Bay drafted Jordan Love just a few short years ago for this very reason.

With the limited number of top-tier free agent quarterbacks available in this year’s class, Green Bay general manager Brian Gutekunst could package a player like Love and their 2023 first-round pick (currently sit at No. 17) to trade up for a player like Bryce Young.

Picturing Young with the Packers will take some mental gymnastics, as we’re used to seeing him in the friendly confines of Tuscaloosa and warmer weather, but that’s not to suggest he isn’t capable.

Aaron Rodgers is nearing the end of his remarkable run. At times this year, he’s looked like a disheveled version of himself. This is an elite draft class at the quarterback position. It would be negligent on the part of Gutekunst and Matt LaFleur to not at least consider selecting the likes of Young or Stroud.

No. 12 doesn’t have much time left on the football field, and drafting a player like Young would give him the chance to grow with a young receiving corps featuring Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs.
