NFL mock draft: Titans trade up for Bryce Young

As of right now, it looks like Bryce Young will be the second quarterback taken, but that could come as soon as the No. 2 overall pick for all we know.

Ryan Tannehill could be a free agent after this season, and he’s coming off injury. Malik Willis isn’t the player the Titans thought they selected in the third round of last year’s draft. In fact, the ‘developmental project’ they sold themselves on simply won’t cut it. The Titans are one quarterback away from being the total package in the AFC. This season proved just that, and they’re nearing the end of this magical run with Derrick Henry.

Young would enter the conversation in Tennessee with a healthy Henry in tow — an Alabama product in his own right — plus a young receiving corps he can grow with. The Titans have a solid offensive line that specializes in run-blocking and the play action pass. It’s an ideal environment for a young QB to learn on the fly, and perhaps get some playoff experience in the process.

Tennessee is slated to pick at No. 12 as of this week. That could change, but dealing their next two first-round picks (along with a little collateral) could be enough to get this done, and make Young a Titan.
