After assembling a big three of Bradley Beal, Kristaps Porzingis, and Kyle Kuzma, Wizards fans had big expectations coming into the 2022 season. While this team has been shorthanded with the injury bug, the inconsistencies are incredibly frustrating. One night, we’ll see Washington struggle against a Lakers team without Anthony Davis, or showcasing bad perimeter defense against Utah, losing games they should win.

Then we’ll see nights like Tuesday and Wednesday, where the Wizards look awesome in wins against the Suns and 76ers (two clear playoff teams). For a team that has three potential All-Stars in a weak Eastern Conference, it’s embarrassing the Wizards are currently five games below .500. Granted, Bradley Beal has been in and out of the lineup, but Kristaps Porzingis and Kyle Kuzma are both on pace to have career seasons. There’s still time left for a playoff push, but if this team continues to struggle with inconsistency even patient owner Ted Leonsis and GM Tommy Sheppard may consider whether Washington should move on from Unseld Jr.
