Warriors who are stepping up without Steph Curry: Draymond Green

He is often criticized for his attitude and antics, and rightfully so at times, but Draymond Green is still the heartbeat of this Warriors crew on many nights.

If you were to look at one box score at a time over the last few weeks, nothing too crazy would stand out about Green’s play. He’s had a couple of games with double-digit assists, and some solid rebounding performances. But scoring-wise, he’s only hit 10-plus points once in his last seven games.

But, consider this: In each of his last five games, Green has totaled, at minimum, either 10 rebounds, five assists and/or three steals. Taking all of that into consideration, he has been an absolute monster in several facets of the game.

Green’s presence on the floor still cannot be overlooked. Although he’s not the guy he once was, Draymond has been playing great ball, all things considered. He’s the one player unafraid to do everything it takes to win games, going in and getting the dirty work done. He’s also not going to back down from defending anybody, whether or not he should be the guy defending said player. At the very least, his mentality should continue to be appreciated.
