On Monday night at Cincinnati, Buffalo Bills’ strong safety Damar Hamlin tackled Bengals’ wide receiver Tee Higgins, got to his feet and then collapsed on the field. He suffered cardiac arrest and had his heartbeat restored but would be transported to a local hospital.

As of this writing, he remained in critical condition. The game was postponed and on Tuesday afternoon, the NFL announced that the contest would not be resumed this week.

A win over the Saints would make Nick Sirianni’s team the top seed in the NFC playoffs. For the second straight week, the Birds were off their game when it came to the offensive side of the ball.

The Eagles ran for only 67 yards, backup quarterback Gardner Minshew was sacked six times. He threw a 78-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver A.J. Brown but served up a fourth-quarter pick-six. Sirianni’s team came up with seven sacks in the losing effort.

The NFC West champions made the relatively short trip to Las Vegas to battle the struggling Raiders. The 49ers’ defense entered Week 17 as the league’s top-ranked defense. DeMeco Ryans’ talented unit gave up 500 total yards and failed to come up with a sack of Jarrett Stidham.

Christian McCaffrey finished with 193 yards from scrimmage and one TD. A Tashaun Gipson interception in overtime set up Robbie Gould’s 23-yard field goal in OT.
