Kenny Pickett offered his support and love for his former college teammate Damar Hamlin after the scary ordeal from Monday Night Football.
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett has dealt with a lot during his rookie season in the NFL. Now, he is dealing with a more personal situation.
On Monday Night Football, Buffalo Bills safety and Pickett’s college teammate Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field and had to be administered CPR before being transported to a hospital. The game between Buffalo and the Cincinnati Bengals was eventually postponed.
Pickett was watching the game, and according to the Athletic (subscription required), this incident hit closer because Hamlin is “like family,” and spoke on how everyone is rallying for Hamlin.
Pickett is absolutely correct. Everyone is indeed rallying for Hamlin. Additionally, they are reaching out off the field as well by donating to Hamlin’s toy drive, with the total amount of donations exceeding $7 million as of Thursday morning.
