2) Outfielder Jurickson Profar

Currently, their starting left fielder would be Eddie Rosario.

Last year, Rosario dealt with injuries that hampered his season. In fact, he was one of the worst players in baseball with his -1.1 fWAR/-1.6 bWAR. At the plate, he hit .212/.259/.328 with an OPS+ of 64. Even when he won the 2021 World Series MVP for the Braves, he didn’t have a great regular season (99 OPS+).

Jurickson Profar would help them in a few areas. He could be their primary left field who would be an offensive upgrade, a significant defensive upgrade, and he can also play the infield.

With the Padres last season, Profar hit .243/.331/.391 with 15 home runs, 58 RBI, 36 doubles, and an OPS+ of 111. He also had 2 Defensive Runs Saved (DRS) in 146 games in the outfielder compared to Rosario’s -9 DRS in just 67 games in the outfield.

He only played the outfield last year but he has played all of the infield spots in the past as well.
