Michael Thomas rumors: Could Giants be interested?

Another team originally in the Odell Beckham Jr. chase, the Giants are another potential suitor for Michael Thomas.

Brian Daboll’s squad has proven they’re a team on the rise, and with Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley expected to stay in New York past the 2022-23 offseason, adding a proven player like Thomas to help buoy the receiving corps makes a lot of sense.

In New York, Thomas would likely be signing on for a greater role than in Dallas or Green Bay. The Giants lack the wide receiver depth both of those teams possess, which is while they’ll be looking for skill position talent in free agency and the draft.

Thomas is a cheaper option, and one they could sell to fans as not over-investing. Taking a flyer on Thomas — a player who would likely be signed to a non-guaranteed contract with plenty of incentives — allows New York to continue to add at other positions of need.

While the Giants surprised us this season, they still have plenty of holes to fill before they can prove they’re a real Super Bowl contender. Adding Thomas takes care of one of those needs, at least in the short term.
