3 teams that should trade up with the Bears for Bryce Young
No. 1 team that should trade with the Bears for Bryce Young: Seattle Seahawks
Geno Smith has had a Tommy Maddox-type resurgence this season, helping put Seattle in the playoff race when many thought it could not happen. Having said that, they are playing the Rams in Week 18, and the draft positioning is key. If Seattle wants to make a move up the draft board to acquire a franchise quarterback, there’s no spot better than the Bears.
The asking price is at least two first-round picks, and maybe a third if the deal is able to be sweetened. But general manager John Schneider has to be comfortable with making such a deal. The Seahawks do have a reputation for finding gems in later rounds, so this deal is not out of the realm, but the Bears have to agree.
The top pick never comes cheap, and if the Bears stay where they are, they will likely end up taking Will Anderson Jr or even Jalen Carter pending the national championship game. That said, the Seahawks can be a team to jump the Texans with the Bears and secure a franchise quarterback while the Bears get the draft capital they need to build their team.
