Cardinals: Alex Burleson will be part of a trade

If Mozeliak’s gamble pays off, the Cardinals’ outfield will include some combination of Dylan Carlson, Lars Nootbaar, Tyler O’Neill, and Jordan Walker. A healthy Juan Yepez will likely be a designated hitter option. This will likely make Burleson a trade chip by mid-season.

Burleson will get an opportunity to show the team what he has got after helping the team down the stretch in 2022. Burleson’s hot play with the Memphis Redbirds forced the Cardinals to bring him up to provide some extra power at the plate. While he wasn’t as hot with St. Louis, he certainly can boost the team.

If he can show that same firepower that brought him to St. Louis, the Cardinals could flip him for pitching or a left-handed bat.
