5. Week 11 College Basketball Power Rankings – Purdue Boilermakers

  • Previously: 6th
  • Record: 16-1 (5-1 In Big Ten)
  • Last Week: Won 73-55 Vs. Nebraska
  • This Week: At Michigan State 1/16, At Minnesota 1/19, Vs. Maryland 1/22

Last week was a light one for Purdue, which pummeled Nebraska on Friday night to improve to 16-1 on the season. The Boilermakers have another three-game week on tap with Monday’s trip to the Breslin Center to take on Michigan State looming large as the Spartans have a 15-4 record against Purdue at home.

4. Week 11 College Basketball Power Rankings – Gonzaga Bulldogs

  • Previously: 4th
  • Record: 16-3 (5-0 In WCC)
  • Last Week: Won 75-74 At BYU, Won 115-75 Vs. Portland
  • This Week: Vs. Loyola Marymount 1/19, At Pacific 1/21

The best effort from Gonzaga this season came at BYU on Thursday, when they rallied from a 10-point deficit with five minutes to go to steal a one-point win to complete an impressive 3-0 road trip against the Cougars, San Francisco and Santa Clara. The Bulldogs have two winnable games on tap against Loyola Marymount and Pacific this week to try and improve to 7-0 in WCC play.

3. Week 11 College Basketball Power Rankings – Kansas Jayhawks

  • Previously: 3rd
  • Record: 16-1 (5-0 In Big 12)
  • Last Week: Won 79-75 Vs. Oklahoma, Won 62-60 Vs. No. 14 Iowa State
  • This Week: At No. 11 Kansas State 1/17, Vs. No. 17 TCU 1/21

Playing in the Big 12 is a meat-grinder so Kansas shouldn’t apologize for winning close games against league foes at home. The undefeated Big 12 run could end this week, however, with Tuesday’s trip to arch-rival Kansas State looking like a prime upset spot for the reigning national champs.

2. Week 11 College Basketball Power Rankings – Alabama Crimson Tide

  • Previously: 2nd
  • Record: 15-2 (5-0 In SEC)
  • Last Week: Won 84-69 At No. 15 Arkansas, Won 106-66 Vs. LSU
  • This Week: At Vanderbilt 1/17, At No. 20 Missouri 1/21

The Crimson Tide continue to demonstrate they are head-and-shoulders above the rest of the SEC by going 2-0 in dominant fashion during a week where a loss either at Arkansas or against LSU would have been understandable. Tuesday’s trip to Vanderbilt will get increased attention from Nate Oats after the Commodores blew out the Razorbacks over the weekend.

1. Week 11 College Basketball Power Rankings – Houston Cougars

  • Previously: 1st
  • Record: 17-1 (5-0 In American)
  • Last Week: Won 83-77 Vs. South Florida
  • This Week: At Tulane 1/17, Vs. Temple 1/22

The Cougars only played once last week and played with their food for a bit before finishing off South Florida. A loss in the American against anyone besides UCF would harm Houston’s resume considerably so avoiding bad defeats against Tulane and Temple this week would be helpful.
