2) MLB Power Rankings: Trade candidate Bryan Reynolds

The asking price for Bryan Reynolds is ridiculous. It’s understandable. He’s a great player with a ton of trade value. You can’t do any MLB Power Rankings on this topic without including him near the top. The Pittsburgh Pirates will want to hold out for the best deal possible. One team will budge.

The New York Yankees need to stop messing around. Now is the time to win a World Series. Reynolds could be a missing piece to their championship puzzle. Left field is barren. Reynolds can be that answer now and for a few more seasons.

Together with Aaron Judge in right field and some continued growth out of Harrison Bader in center field, the Yankees are set beyond the infield dirt. It’s going to cost them quite a lot. Hold strong, Pittsburgh. Brian Cashman will give in eventually. Give them a few months to hype up their prospects more.

1) MLB Power Rankings: Trade candidate Shohei Ohtani

Shohei Ohtani tops the MLB Power Rankings this week. It’s something he is used to. This sports unicorn is a trade candidate teams can only dream about acquiring as soon as this summer. Depending on where the Los Angeles Angels are in the standings will factor into whether he stays put or goes.

Ohtani trade rumors are one possibility to expect this summer. More so, it’s his impending free agency that will have the whole baseball world on lockdown. Before he gets there, which team should go all-in to acquire the two-way superstar?

Nobody has more prospects to spare and a shot at extending him better than the St. Louis Cardinals. They can offer the Angels a solid package of players and not lose much luster on the farm. Their large number of quality hitters at the major league level in their mid-20s makes them the greatest threat to acquire Ohtani. Keeping him might be difficult, but if the Cardinals see a chance to win a World Series this year, it’s the kind of move you go for and regret making later on.
