Predicting the best free agent the Los Angeles Chargers will sign: Javon Hargrave, DT
The defensive line group in free agency is one of the better positions available this offseason. Headlining a fantastic upper echelon is Eagles defensive lineman Javon Hargrave, who will join the Los Angeles Chargers this year.
The Chargers were the NFL’s fifth-worst defense against the run during the regular season, and while Hargrave is better as an interior pass rusher, he’s also come up with a total of 30 stops on the season.
Los Angeles does thrive on rushing the passer, though. With guys like Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack on the edge, this front will become even scarier after seeing Hargrave sign. They might still need to improve against the run, sure, but Hargrave gives the Chargers maybe the most feared defensive front, in terms of pass rush, in all of football.
Hargrave improved to have his best season yet as a pro in 2022, as the 29-year-old posted 11.0 sacks — a career-high mark for the 3rd round pick back in 2016.
