5 teams that should call Bills about Stefon Diggs trade amid tantrum, No. 2: Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers are going to be followed heavily this offseason due their looming decision regarding quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Even though Rodgers did sign a three-year, $150.8 million contract last offseason, he did talk openly about retiring in the near future. When the Packers were eliminated from playoff contention, Rodgers didn’t give his jersey to Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams, saying “I gotta hold onto this one.” That increased the talk about this potentially being his final year with the Packers. Rodgers continued to add to the speculation, where he said he hasn’t made a decision on if or where he wants to play.
Rodgers or not, the Packers need a top-tier wide receiver on their roster after moving Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders. Adding Diggs could be huge for the Packers and their quarterback, whether it’s Rodgers or Jordan Love.
5 teams that should call Bills about Stefon Diggs trade amid tantrum, No. 1: Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys haven’t made it to the NFC Championship Game since the 1995 season. That streak continued once again this campaign, as the Cowboys lost in the Divisional Round to the San Francisco 49ers 19-12. The thing is, Dallas’ defense kept them in the game, but the offense struggled mightily. From quarterback Dak Prescott making some poor throws and the team losing running back Tony Pollard to a high ankle sprain and a fractured fibula, the offense had no answers for San Francisco’s defense.
If there was one thing evident in the game, it’s that the Cowboys need another top-end receiver to pair alongside CeeDee Lamb. The third-year wideout did as much as he could, even with an injured pinky finger, but it just wasn’t enough to get Dallas to the third-round.
Prescott didn’t help his case on Sunday, but the team did make a lengthy and lucrative investment in him. The Cowboys aren’t going to give up on him just yet. In all likelihood, they will look to give him another wide receiver to fill the void left by Amari Cooper, who they traded last offseason. They could opt to select a rookie pass-catcher in the first-round of the NFL Draft, or they could look to flip that pick for a veteran, proven wideout.
Come on, you know Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is going to try to make a big splash move, and he usually does so by bringing in a wide receiver. Again, it’s unknown if Diggs will be available, but DeAndre Hopkins is reportedly available.
