2. New York Liberty

The acquisition of Jonquel Jones has alerted the league that the New York Liberty are coming for the ring. They are now on the clock with Sabrina Ionescu on her way to becoming a perennial All-Star and looking to establish herself as a superstar. The Liberty have shown belief in their point guard and should continue to build around her.

Being attached to a name like Breanna Stewart shows what this team is looking for. Maybe such rumors are just part of the New York hype train, heck, maybe me suggesting Nneka for the Liberty is part of that hype train but she would be a great piece next to Ionescu and Jones.

Ogwumike and Jonquel could play inside-outside, alternating roles. They can both run pick-and-roll with Sabrina. All three of them could run a deadly Spain pick-and-roll. They could run high-low action and bust through any defense.

The Liberty could have the best offense in the league were they to have a three-headed monster of Ionescu, Ogwumike and Jones. Add in Marine Johannes’ creativity, Stefanie Dolson’s spacing, Sami Whitcomb’s shooting, Han Xu’s mid-rangers and this team is a handful.

The Liberty should be looking to add an elite 3 or 4 in between Sabrina and Jonquel and Nneka should at least pick up the phone.
