5 players who deserved MLB The Show 23 cover more than Jazz Chisholm, No. 4: Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Blue Jays

It is really a surprise that Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hasn’t made it onto the cover of MLB The Show. He was a highly-touted Toronto Blue jays prospect that fans were eagerly awaiting to make his major league debut. And he, simply, lived up to the hype.

Back in 2021, Guerrero led the AL with 48 home runs, 123 runs scored, a .401 on-base percentage, a .601 slugging percentage, a 1.002 OPS, a 167 OPS+, and 363 total bases. He finished second in AL MVP voting that year to Ohtani.

Guerrero may not have put up the same numbers as he did in 2021 this past season, but they were still solid, as he slashed .274/.339/.480 while recording 32 home runs, 97 RBI, and 175 hits.

It will only be a matter of time before Guerrero lands on the cover.

5 players who deserved MLB The Show 23 cover more than Jazz Chisholm, No. 3: Rafael Devers, Red Sox

Yes, the Boston Red Sox have had three players land on the cover of MLB The Show in David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia, and Adrian Gonzalez. But, Rafael Devers has to be the next player from Boston to make it, right?

Devers has solidified himself as the face of the franchise for the Red Sox. That was evident as the fanbase urged team ownership and the front office to get a deal done. That talk only grew louder after shortstop Xander Bogaerts left in free agency for the San Diego Padres. But, the Red Sox and Devers were able to agree to terms on a massive 10-year, $313.5 million contract extension.

This past season, Devers recorded 27 home runs, 88 RBI, 164 hits, a .295 batting average and .879 OPS.
