NFL Draft rumors: Bears trade No. 1 to Colts

Two firsts and two seconds? All of which are likely to be high choices? Absolutely. Chicago can still land a premier talent OR mortgage the 4th overall pick into more assets to fill out the roster and build it to a modern team. Meanwhile, the Colts get the quarterback of their choice by beating out Houston.

Though Houston offered two first-rounders this year, acquiring more draft capital for this year and next would be a massive get. Next year’s crop features several weapons at the wide receiver and tight end spots, which would be a tremendous blessing for Justin Fields and his development.

Both sides win here. Indianapolis gives up a haul, but the Bears are still in the position to land someone who can help change the trajectory of the team. Remember, it’s not just one player; it’s the whole team.
