Atlanta Falcons are in their best position in years to acquire some top-tier talent

After being in salary cap hell for the better part of a decade, the Atlanta Falcons can finally participate in free agency for once. Only the Chicago Bears have more space than them, but the Dirty Birds will have well over $56 million to work with this offseason. They may have had a middling roster, but Arthur Smith’s boys overachieved last season to even get to that 7-10 mark.

Depending on what they want to do at quarterback, Atlanta has a weapons core of Drake London, Kyle Pitts and Tyler Allgeier in the backfield. Cordarrelle Patterson is a Swiss army knife with the ball in his hands. Desmond Ridder offers great upside at the quarterback position. Frankly, Atlanta needs a veteran wide receiver to take its offense to the next level. Someone like Allen will suffice.

If the Falcons nail their offseason moves, Atlanta could win its first NFC South crown since 2016.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player. NFC. East. New York Giants. 1. 31

New York Giants need to build around Daniel Jones at least for one more season

This is the one landing spot that I think makes the most sense for Allen, objectively speaking. The New York Giants were the lone playoff team from this grouping a year ago. Hiring Brian Daboll to be their next head coach was a no-brainer. He brought the best out of Daniel Jones to date. With well over $44 million in available cap space, the Giants can afford to pay a premium to sign Allen.

Although the NFC East should be one of the most competitive divisions in football again, it serves the Giants here to find a player who can help them cut through it. The Philadelphia Eagles are not going away. While the Dallas Cowboys are a major regression candidate, the Washington Commanders just won’t go away, will they? For New York, they need to add a star like Allen here.

If Jones bombs in the wake of his breakout season, then the Giants’ brass can say that it tried.
