3. OT Isaiah Wynn

Let’s just be honest; Dan Moore Jr. hasn’t impressed anyone at left tackle. The Steelers might be looking to upgrade. However, Moore has a ton of potential, and he should be given a chance to unlock said potential.

Someone is going to pay Isaiah Wynn more money than he’s earned. He’s a former first-round pick who has missed a lot of time. He missed his entire rookie season. Then, he missed time in both 2019 and 2020. He’s been more reliable over the past two seasons, but he’s definitely not completely reliable.

Like Hardman, the Steelers can’t mess with unreliability in free agency. Wynn is going to get paid quite well this offseason. Somebody will give him the bag based on his ability, talent, and age (he’s only 26 years old). The Steelers should not be giving him said bag. Wynn could be worth every penny. Maybe things just didn’t work out with the Patriots. However, that’s as far from a certainty as possible.

It’s very tempting to upgrade from Moore, but the Steelers can’t do it with Wynn. A team with more reliable tackles needs to take a chance on Wynn. He’s not going to fix the Steelers’ problems. At best, he’s going to be a really good Band-Aid. At worst, he’s going to add to the problem.
