Cardinals prospect Gordon Graceffo is one to watch

While Jordan Walker has been getting a lot of attention as the Cardinals prospect to watch this Spring, another player fans should keep their eye on is right-handed pitcher Gordon Graceffo.

He was the team’s fifth-round draft pick in 2021 out of Villanova University. Graceffo made it to the minor league affiliate in Springfield. While he’s been mentioned in trade possibilities, he’s also been touted as someone for Cardinals fans to watch this Spring closely.

If he impresses manager Oli Marmol and new pitching coach Dusty Blake this Spring, fans could see him with St. Louis as a spot starter or long reliever.

While he was on Cardinals minor league teams in Peoria and Springfield, he achieved a record in 2022 of 10-6 in 26 games started and 139.1 innings pitched, pitched a complete game for Springfield, and had an ERA of 2.97 while notching 139 strikeouts.

Graceffo is a sure bet to get a long look during Spring Training. Even if he doesn’t break camp with the Cardinals, fans will soon see him in St. Louis.
