6. DE Jared Allen

The sack specialist was a Finalist for the Hall of Fame for the second consecutive year but once again did not get the necessary votes. Jared Allen had quite the motor to go along with the resume. All told, 85.5 of his 136.0 sacks came during his six-year stay with the Minnesota Vikings. A fourth-round pick by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2004, the former Idaho State product also played with the Bears and Panthers.

Allen also finished with six interceptions, 32 forced fumbles and 19 fumble recoveries. It all added up to five Pro Bowl invitations and four All-Pro nods.

5. T Joe Jacoby

These days, the franchise is known as the Commanders. Under the command of head coach Joe Gibbs during his first stint with the team (1981-92), the franchise was still known as the Washington Redskins. During that span, Gibbs led the club to the Super Bowl four times and hoisted the Lombardi Trophy in 1982 (XVII), 1987 (XXII) and 1991 (XXVI).

Offensive lineman Joe Jacoby was a pivotal part of those squads. That’s because the strength of the roster lay on the offensive line. The former undrafted free agent from the University of Louisville was a stalwart up front. He spent most of his career as left tackle, where he earned Pro Bowl invitations four times and was named All-Pro in 1983 and ’84.
