2. Gardner Minshew

Gardner Minshew has been Jalen Hurts’ trusty backup for the last two years, but with his contract coming to an end in 2022, he may look to test the waters of free agency.

As bad as it sounds, Minshew’s biggest contribution to Philly this past season was showing the league how good Jalen Hurts is. The backup quarterback started in for two games at the end of the season when Hurts was injured, the Eagles ended up losing both. This year, Minshew has thrown three touchdowns against three interceptions in 2022 and recorded a career-low 39.6 average quarterback rating.

Because he’s familiar with the system and has a decent arm, Minshew remains a somewhat reliable No. 2 behind Hurts — for now. This offseason, if a quarterback-needy team (Texans, Panthers, Jets, Raiders, take your pick) is willing to pay him more than the Eagles will, Minshew would be silly not to take that offer.

All this to say: Minshew may not return to Philly in 2023, and unless a playoff contender picks him up, this will be his best shot at winning a ring.

Also, a small shout-out to former New Orleans Saints quarterback Ian Book who has somehow crawled his way onto this stacked roster. This will absolutely be Book’s best and only shot at a Super Bowl; he would win it never having played a single snap for the Eagles, but a win’s a win.
